The Samsung Galaxy S3 is the most anticipated Android handset to date. It is a handset that everyone, Android user or not, will be itching to get their hands on.
At the heart is Goole’s Android version 4.0 operating system. Hugely capable, Android offers flexibility and simple user customisation. From phone calls to text messages to Gmail, to navigation to social networking, the Galaxy S III comes preloaded with many applications but can be further expanded through Google’s online application store, Google Play.
A quad-core processor provides a super fast performance to ensure that everything you do happens instantly. This Samsung processor is more than capable of competing with the NVIDIA Tegra 3 chip found in other leading phones.
4.8 inches is the size of the Galaxy S3 screen. Using Super AMOLED technology that has become the benchmark for smartphone screens, the S3 does not disappoint when it comes to image clarity. Browse your favourite web pages, update your social networks or stream a film. Through WiFi or a 3G connection the connectivity options are all here. You can expect the very fastest wireless connectivity speeds and this includes Bluetooth version 4.0.
With multimedia being so key to modern phones, Samsung has included a rear facing HD video capable 8 megapixel camera with LED flash as well as a front facing 1.9 megapixel camera both of which have zero shutter lag.
The Galaxy S III will be available with 3 different memory options, 16, 32 & 64GB in addition to a microSD card slot found on all devices that will support up to 64GB microSD cards. So, you could if you want have up to 128GB of storage on a phone. However it might not always be practical so Samsung have included 50GB of cloud storage with Dropbox.
Best photo - We have all missed that perfect shot at that special occasion. With the S3 you can automatically take a burst of 8 pictures and choose the best one.
Buddy photo share - Want your phone to intelligently recognise your friends faces in photos you have captured? If the answer is yes, then the Galaxy S III does this too. It recognises a friends face and allows you to share photos with them instantly.
Social tag- Social networks can be so important in keeping up to date with your friends. Social tag keeps track of loved ones, friends and family, showing their social network status as you glance at their photos.
Smart stay - This intelligent system keeps the backlight on the phone switched on until you are no longer using or are looking at the phone. No more annoying timeouts or having to tap the screen or press the power button so you can finish reading or watching what was on screen.
Direct call - The Galaxy S III is intelligent enough to know when you want to talk. You may be texting a friend and think, it might just be easier to call. Simply lift the phone to your ear and it will call the contact.
Smart alert - We all leave our phones on our desk or in a jacket pocket and sometimes forget that we have. We will pick it up at a later time but maybe not check for missed calls or messages. The Smart alert feature found on the Galaxy will give a gentle vibrating nudge to let you know if you have any messages or missed calls.
S Voice - An intelligent voice command system it responds to your words such as take a photo, wake up and answer. Making small and simple tasks that bit easier. Just say what you are thinking and the Galaxy S3 can help.
S Beam - It is the Google Beam service found in Android taken one step further. Simply place a Samsung Galaxy S III back to back with another Galaxy S III and you can transfer, without wires, pictures, music, videos and more.
Pop up play - Ever been relaxing watching a film on your phone but at the same time texting friends or wanting to browse the web? Kind of frustrating as multitasking can be difficult and you may have to continually pause or miss bits of the video content. Not any more. Pop up play allows you to do two things at once. The video content stays in a box which you can move around the screen to work with whatever else you are doing.
AllShare Cast - There might be times where the 4.8” Super AMOLED display on the Galaxy S3 just isn’t big enough. For example when you want to share holiday photos, videos or a movie. Simply share it without wires to a big screen and use your Galaxy S III as a controller.
AllShare Play - You have no doubt left a file on a home computer when you are at work or thought it would be really handy if I could access something that you have stored on your home computer when somewhere else. With Samsungs AllShare Play you can access documents and multimedia files remotely, allowing you to achieve what you could not before.
